Nvidia Launches Foundation Tablet "Quad Core" With Cheap Prices

Price trends increasingly point to the tablet under the alias is getting cheaper.

After a surprise by introducing Android tablet with System on Chip (SoC) Tegra 3 is $200 dollars on CES in January 2012, Nvidia clarify the concept of low-cost tablet that strengthened his chip is.

The annual investor meeting last week Nvidia, the graphics processor chip giant announced a cheap tablet concept called by the name "Kai".

Platform "Kai" plan will be reinforced with SoC Tegra 3 and run the operating system Android 4.0 or "Ice Cream Sandwich". The most interesting part, Nvidia fix the price at the end of the tablet is $199 dollars.

Tegra 3 is the latest chipset from Nvidia that combines a CPU with four cores (quad core) speed 1.4 GHz with a graphics processing unit which is three times faster than previous generations.

"Kai" is likely baselines (reference design) for Android tablet makers in making a tablet device for less than $200 dollars. To reach that price level, Nvidia allegedly would put cheap components and display with low power consumption.

Nvidia Chief Executive Jen-Hsun Huang promising cheap tablet with SoC Tegra 3 will be available this summer.
